Founder and CEO Sean Williams brings 20 years of experience as a leader in corporate communications including public relations, internal communication, research, measurement, coaching and training. He is well known for his simple, intuitive approach and his focus on research and measurement as integral parts of making communications more effective.
WIlliams has held executive communication posts at National City Bank, KeyCorp and The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. He has earned a solid reputation for his skills in public relations measurement and evaluation, comprehensive, research-based communication consulting, intranet strategy and management communication.
Earlier in his career, Williams was a senior consultant for Joe Williams Communications, Inc. (www.jwcom.com) where he expanded the strategic planning, research and consulting practices with companies including Merck, Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Prudential and Lucent, training thousands of managers on communication effectiveness.
When he’s not consulting and strategizing, Williams is an adjunct professor of Public Relations at Kent State University where he has taught PR Theory, PR Face-to-Face Tactics, PR Metrics, PR and Social Media, Financial Issues in PR, and PR Measurement/ROI.
A University of Washington graduate, Williams is a member of the Institute for Public Relations Commission on Measurement and Evaluation, and has published four research papers, including analyzing the PR measurement program of a major financial company, an international firm's internal communications (co-winner of the 2008 International Public Relations Research Conference (IPRRC) Jackson-Sharpe Award for PR research authored by an academic and a practitioner); corporate use of social media from a theoretical perspectives, and most recently an exploratory paper examining online influence, for which he one a "top 3 papers" award from the Institute for Public Relations at the 2013 IPRRC.
Williams is active in several industry associations where he has chaired conferences and participated in panel discussions. He is a frequent speaker on topics including research, measurement and brand equity and communication assessments.
